Venue – Shoulder of Mutton pub, New Rd, Mytholmroyd. HX7 5DZ

Distance – 24km / 14.9m

Climb – 820m / 2690ft

A challenging fell race over open moor and footpaths with runners being treated to climbing Stoodley Pike….twice!

The route will be partially flagged so navigational skills will be helpfull.
The race starts and finishes in a field 10 mins from registration up Nest Lane then Park Lane (SD 004 258)
Parking is available at Mytholmroyd Community Centre. NO parking at the Church across the road from the pub. Please be considerate to residents if parking on local roads.

ROUTE CHANGE FROM 2021

As requested by the landowner, we have changed the route between CP1 and CP2. You no longer descend using the permissive path. Instead, retrace your steps from Stoodley Pike to the gate (GR 978 242). Head south to the next stile (GR 978 241) and follow the flagged route until you reach CP2 at Withins Clough Res (GR 978 229)

6 – Withins Gate (SD 966229) – Cutoff at 12.45
7 – London Road (SD 964 235)
8 – Stoodley Pike…again (SD 973 242)
9 – Stoney Royd (SD 994 239)

This race has a Permit and associated UK Athletics insurance from the FRA therefore FRA rules apply. Please ensure you bring the following kit…..

Hat and Gloves

Spare long sleeve Top

Map and Compass

Plastic mug (no cups provided at road checkpoints).

Extra food and water

Other suitable equipment/clothing for the weather on the day.

GPS devices are NOT allowed.

Note that the route is only partially flagged and so will require navigational skills.

Unable to run? As runners it can be frustrating when you can’t join in the fun. But if you can spare the time, then volunteer to be a marshal at one of our races. You will be given race credit to use at any of our races once you are up and about again. Just contact us.
