MOORS THE MERRIER 21

Start the Christmas period with a great walk or run around the moors of Hebden Bridge on Saturday 12th December 2026.

A 21 mile circular route, starting and finishing from a brand new venue for 2026 – Mytholmroyd Community Centre.

8am start for walkers and early runners; 9am start for the race.

 

The anti clockwise route takes you up the big hill, over Midgley Moor, Wadsworth Moor, Heptonstall Moor, Erringden Moor and now has a cracking downhill finish back to the community centre.

It’s Christmas so essential kit must include a Santa Hat and also a present to hand in (worth no more than £5) for the Bran Tub (lucky dip) afterwards.

Participants can look forward to a hot meal afterwards and there are changing rooms with showers available.

The Kit......

As its winter, all participants MUST carry the following minimum equipment…..

  • Santa Hat!
  • Present for the Bran Tub (Cost no more than £5, to be handed in at registration)
  • Waterproofs (top and bottoms) with taped seams and jacket must have a hood
  • Hat and gloves
  • Map, compass & whistle
  • Plastic mug for hot drinks on route (optional)
  • Spare long sleeve top
  • Spare food and drink
  • Survival bag
  • Headtorch

The Cost.....

Moors the Merrier has been even better since 2024! You may notice the price had increased slightly, this is to cover the addition of Open Tracking to our event. Your friends and family will be able to follow your progress around the route, but more importantly so will we. In the event of bad winter weather this will help to enable us to ensure your safety.

Unable to run? As runners it can be frustrating when you can’t join in the fun. But if you can spare the time, then volunteer to be a marshal at one of our races. You will be given race credit to use at any of our races once you are up and about again. Just contact us.
